Elixir de Careyes, Costa Careyes is located in Costalegre (Happy Coast) on the Pacific, beach side of Jalisco, Mexico, approximately 180 km south of Puerto Vallarta, or 108 km north of Manzanillo.

The Puerto Vallarta International Airport (Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz), PVR, is 108 miles, or 2.5 hours from Careyes. There are many direct flights from the U.S. to PVR.

The Manzanillo International Airport (ZLO) is 53 miles from Careyes, and about a one hour drive.

We arrange for Careyes shuttles to meet and greet all the guests at the airport and whisk them away to paradise.

Retreat Savvy will research the best flight options for you based on your location. ZLO is closer to Careyes but there are more international and direct flight options and often times better fares to PVR.

We strongly suggest that everyone coordinate flights via Retreat Savvy so that we can share ground transportation and costs to/from the airport to the Villas. PLEASE ASK LAURA AT RETREAT SAVVY FOR THE LATEST FLIGHT SCHEDULE OF ALL THE PARTICIPANTS BEFORE BOOKING YOUR FLIGHT. If you do arrive outside the window of the others in the group, please plan or taking your own ground transportation (which can be arranged via Retreat Savvy). Please discuss your flight preferences with Laura before purchasing your flight so we can coordinate flights and ground transportation. Flights are changing all the time and we cannot guarantee how many you will be grouped with in your ground transportation but we always do our best to fill the vans!

Ground Transport to Careyes Upon Arrival in Puerto Vallarta

All ground transportation is cash only. Laura will be coordinating the group to share ground transportation to and from Elixir de Careyes.  We highly recommend taking into consideration when others are flying so you can share ground transport. Please note, that if your flight arrives PVR later than the group or departs PVR on on the depature date earlier than the group, you will most likely be taking ground transportation alone and will be responsible for the cost.

Puerto Vallarta to Careyes

• Suburban holds up to 5 to 7 passengers: $260* + tip ($260 + 15% tip = $300 total. $300 will be divided by the number of people in your van.  We will try to fit as many in one van as possible but plan on anywhere between 4-7 people in your van and work with Laura on your flights so that we can group as many people together as possible.) Based on one way.

Manzanillo to Careyes

• Suburban holds 6 to 7 passengers $167* + tip.  Based on one way.

• For 1-2 people: $92* + tip.  Based on one way.

No car is necessary in Careyes. However, there is an option to rent your own car and drive to and from the villas. However, you are responsible for getting yourself there and back.  Directions will be provided from Puerto Vallarta or Manzanillo.

Three delicious and mostly organic meals a day are included beginning with dinner on the day of arrival and ending with breakfast on the day of departure. Our very own villa chef prepares plenty of choices and an abundance of everything: a selection of salads, a plethora of vegetables and tropical fruits, fresh fruit juices, grains, potatoes, fresh fish and seafood, chicken, beef, Jalisco specialties, king-sized platters of guacamole, and delightful homemade desserts. Special dietary requests and restrictions are accommodated as best as possible and always with a smile. If you have dietary restrictions or special needs, please let Laura at Retreat Savvy know well in advance. Meals include juices, tea, coffee and water. Does not include alcoholic beverages.

Each villa has a designated and professional on-site butler, chef and staff who will surely make your week in Careyes extra special with their unparalleled hospitality. They are highly attentive and offer personal service that makes you feel truly cared for. They are friendly and thoughtful, yet unobtrusive. 

It is up to guests to tip the staff according to the service received. (The suggested amount starts at $10 per day per guest, or $70 for the week as a minimum. After they dazzle you, you may wish to donate $100 or more for the week. Cash Only.

There are several activities to choose from. Here is are some of the options:

• Steam Room: Free

• Massage: $100 an hour.  Can be booked on arrival.

• Coastal Boat Tour: $120 an hour divided by 7 person max per boat.  The captain can take you to private beaches along the coast line or out snorkeling, or whale/dophin watching.

• Snorkeling: Around Hotel/ Playa Rosa: $10.00 Rental

• Horseback Riding,1 hour Ride:  $50.00, Max 3 people.

• Kayaks: Single Kayak:  $10.00 an hour, Double Kayak: $15.00 an hour

• Tennis Courts: $10.00 per hour, $15.00 night time

• Golf:  $150 per person

• Mountain Biking: $ 10.00 per hour

• Scuba Diving: One tank: $100 per person 40 minutes. Second tank: $50 per person 40 minutes

• Castle visits: included when available.

Wifi is provided free of charge in the common areas of the villa and reaches many of the rooms. You must have your own laptop or device to access it.

Use of telephone is limited to the office and can be paid in cash only prior to departure.   

Laundry services are provided for a $5.00 charge per guest, per day of service.

All deposits and payments are non-refundable.
